Diabetic foot, Gangrene, non-healing ulcers, wounds & homeopathy

Healing wounds with homeopathy

Homeopathic internal medicines and local application work wonders in healing wounds post surgery as well as in cases of diabetic foot, non healing ulcers and decubitus ulcers. The case photos shown below are of an 80 year old female with an open wound resulting from post surgical debrement of lymphatic and dead tissue, a result of chronic lymphangitis and cellulitis, post a hip surgery.

The homeopathic approach:

Persons inflicted with such wounds are usually classified into two types: one with peripheral neuritis and pain (non-diabetic) and those who experience absolutely no pain or minimal pain (diabetic). Those individuals who experience pain are prescribed homeopathic medicines which significantly relieve pain and burning sensation as well as remedies which reduce edema, tendinitis and especially improve peripheral circulation. Along side the most important line of treatment is the local application of certain homeopathic plant extracts which miraculously help in healing wounds in a period much shorter than conventional healing techniques and without the aid of skin grafting. Tough skin grafting is beneficial in healing wounds faster; the final outcome depends on the healing (granulation) of the primary wound and collateral circulation, both of which can be accelerated with the help of local and internal homeopathic medicines.
Anyone with non-healing ulcers or wounds as well as post –surgical wounds should opt for a homeopathic line of treatment which improves the chances of a faster recovery. Some commonly used remedies like Calendula flower extracts, Arnica Montana, Hypericum Perfoliatum, Secal Cor etc may help in healing and relieving associated symptoms. However, there are many more remedies which are being used both internally and locally at our centres with results faster and better than these remedies.
