About the child

Child, age 2, presented with classical signs of Autism from the age of 1.5 yrs. He completely lacked eye contact, showed no response to his name, extremely aloof, was indifferent to his surroundings, did say a few words but meaninglessly, could not identify his mother or father with classical flapping of his hands.  He lacked comprehension, speech and communication and diagnosed to be in the ‘moderate-severe autism spectrum’.

Strong family history

This child's immediate cousin too was diagnosed to be in the autism spectrum which made the parents very aware and guided them to seek treatment timely. Ankylosing Spondylitis treatment, cause and Homeopathy

What is Ankylosing spondylitis (AS)?

Ankylosing spondylitis is a chronic form of arthritis affecting the joints in the spine and the sacroilium in the pelvis. Larger joints like the knee can also be affected. It is initially characterized by pain and stiffness of the lower back, followed by severe rigidity of the spine due to fusion of the spinal vertebrae (bamboo spine). The pain may radiate from the lower back to the buttock or the back of the thighs in its early stages and generally increases on rest, and improves with physical activity.

Causes of AS: 

Ankylosing spondylitis is considered to be an autoimmune disease though the responsible autoantibody has so far not been pin pointed. App. 90% of people with Ankylosing spondylitis have a gene called HLA-B27.

Diagnosis: 

Approximately 90% of individuals express HLA B27 genotype. An x-ray or MRI will show changes in the spine or sacroilium. During acute attacks there is usually an increase in CRP (C - reactive protein) and ESR

Other symptoms: 

Inflammation of the white of the eye (iridocyclitis) causing eye pain and generalized fatigue are some common symptoms associated with Ankylosing spondylitis. 

Stages of AS: 

Ankylosing spondilitis is regarded as an autoimmune condition in which inflammation of the ligaments and joints of the spine and sacroilium results in deposition of bone tissue. The tissue overtime fuses the bones causing rigidity and immobility of the spine and hip joints. The Joint degeneration and fusion is a chronic process and if appropriate measures like exercise, proper posture and homeopathic medicines are introduced early, the condition can be prevented from worsening.

Role of Homeopathy in Ankylosing spondylitis:
